This embodies the timeless wisdom of 'United we stand, divided we fall', illustrating the power of collaboration in achieving greatness. Just as a symphony emerges from the synchronisation of its players, so does a thriving organisation thrive on cohesive teamwork. However, fostering this unity extends beyond mere team activities; it requires instilling shared purpose, values, and skills within each participant. 

Consider the journey of an effective individual: from conceptualising an idea to rallying a team, the importance lies in nurturing understanding and cooperation. This team-building programme principles are a articulated in Stephen Covey's '7 Habits', guiding us from personal mastery to interdependence to be an effective team, skyrocketing success! This team-building programme highlights activities that emphasise proactive attitudes, envisioning collective objectives, and prioritising effectively as we progress towards interdependence—pursuing mutual victories, empathetic understanding, and synergistic collaboration.  

Methodology

The training programme is meticulously structured, integrating various elements such as interactive learning, experiential games, role-plays, group coaching, and dynamic debrief sessions using a problem-based learning approach. This comprehensive methodology is tailored to address the key focus areas of:

Participants engage in interactive exercises and discussions designed to provide opportunities for all team members to connect and build relationships, particularly across different departments and functions within the organization.

Besides, enhanced communication skills are able to lay a solid foundation to build trust, leading to quick decisions and generating high-quality ideas. Participants will understand the importance of shared purpose and values in fostering unity and teamwork within an organization. This one-day programme adopts an inward-outwards approach inspired by 7 Habits for Highly Effective Teams, where we help participants achieve personal mastery before moving onto trust and teamwork and finally tackling organisational issues and decision-making as a team: 

PART 1

Personal Mastery
  1. Taking initiative and responsibility for one's actions. 
  2. Focusing on what can be controlled and taking action to create positive outcomes. 
  3. Setting clear goals and envisioning desired outcomes. 
  4. Aligning actions with personal values and long-term objectives. 
  5. Prioritising tasks and managing time effectively. 
  6. Focusing on activities that align with goals and values. 

PART 2

Interpersonal Skills

Activity 1: Morning Momentum: Circle of Influence Exploration (9.00AM – 10.30AM)

Competencies and Skills:  

  1. Exploration of the Circle of Influence: Participants will discover resources and tools within their immediate environment that can enhance their performance at work. 
  2. Teamwork and Collaboration: By working in pairs, participants will foster teamwork and communication skills as they strategize and complete tasks together. 
  3. Creativity and Strategic Thinking: Engaging in a scavenger hunt will encourage participants to think creatively and strategically about how to leverage available resources for professional development. 
  4. Competencies: Habit 1 - Be Proactive (Taking responsibility and recognizing areas of influence), Habit 2 - Begin with the End in Mind (Understanding how to prioritize efforts within their sphere of influence)

Activity Description (Indoors/Outdoors): 

Good Mornings and Circle of Influence Mapping" is an energising icebreaker designed to kickstart the day with enthusiasm and strategic thinking. Participants will engage in a fun activity to locate items within their premises that can enhance their performance at work. By completing tasks in pairs, they'll not only foster teamwork but also explore their circle of influence by identifying resources and tools within their immediate environment.  

During the debrief, the trainer recaps the icebreaker's purpose of exploring the Circle of Influence through identifying items improving work performance. Participants share their findings and reflect on teamwork, creativity, and strategic thinking. They discuss how leveraging resources within their Circle of Influence can empower them in the workplace, concluding with commitments to apply their learnings proactively. The trainer encourages action and closes with reflections, emphasizing the importance of resourcefulness and proactive engagement for professional growth. 


Activity 2: SUPERHEROES VOYAGE (10.30AM – 11.30PM)

Competencies and Skills:  

  1. Self-Representation: Participants express themselves creatively by designing their individual superhero characters. 
  2. Collaboration: Participants work together to develop a mission statement that reflects their collective purpose and goals as a team. 
  3. Vision and Purpose: The activity encourages participants to consider how their individual strengths and values contribute to a larger mission of making a positive impact on the world. 
  4. Habit 2 - Begin with the End in Mind (Crafting a clear vision for personal and team success). 
  5. Habit 3 - Put First Things First (Aligning actions with values and goals). 

Activity Description (Outdoors): 

In this engaging activity, participants unleash their creativity by crafting individual superhero characters using paper-cut figurines. Following this imaginative endeavour, the workshop takes on a transformative dimension as participants unite to co-create a mission statement for their superhero team. Drawing inspiration from their personal values and aspirations, teams collaboratively align their vision for collective success, emphasising clarity, alignment, and commitment to save the world. During the debrief, the trainer will explain how this dynamic fusion of self-expression and teamwork not only cultivates a sense of purpose but also fosters the development of essential habits such as beginning with the end in mind and prioritizing actions in accordance with shared values and goals. 


Activity 3: Win-Win Extravaganza (11.30AM – 1.00PM)

Competencies and Skills:  

  1. Negotiation Skills: Participants practice negotiation techniques such as active listening, empathy, and creative problem-solving in a fun and dynamic outdoor setting. 
  2. Teamwork and Collaboration: Teams collaborate to navigate through challenges and negotiate with other teams, fostering communication and cooperation. 
  3. Win-Win Mindset: The Tournament reinforces the Habit 4 principle of seeking mutually beneficial solutions while encouraging participants to understand and empathize with the perspectives of others, aligning with Habit 5. 

Activity Description (Outdoors): 

Uranium Rush is an action-packed tournament event designed to cultivate essential habits such as seeking mutually beneficial solutions and developing empathetic listening skills. Teams navigate through three exhilarating games: Uranium Mine, Uranium Balls, and Uranium Transfer. In Uranium Mine, teams mine blindfolded using the unique "mining" language of "Careful-Ah." Uranium Balls challenges teams to lift buckets of uranium balls using ropes, while Uranium Transfer requires negotiation with other teams to transfer uranium through "special" pipes.  

Through these challenges, participants practice thinking win-win and seek first to understand, then to be understood, fostering teamwork, communication, and empathy in a dynamic outdoor setting. 


BREAK FOR LUNCH! (1.00PM – 2.00PM) 


Activity 4: MISSION: SOCIAL MEDIA INFLUENCER CHALLENGE (2:00PM – 3.30PM)

Competencies and Skills:  

  1. Develop empathetic listening skills to build genuine connections and rapport with strangers. 
  2. Understand the importance of collaboration and teamwork in achieving visibility and influence. 
  3. Habit 5: Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood, as participants prioritize empathetic listening and understanding in their interactions with strangers, fostering genuine connections that enrich their storytelling. 
  4. Habit 6: Synergize is demonstrated as participants collaborate to brainstorm ideas, support each other during the challenge, and share insights on effective content creation strategies, highlighting the value of teamwork. 

Activity Description (Outdoors or Indoors): 

Embark on the "Mission: Social Media Influencer Challenge," where participants receive mini briefcases containing themed missions to become social media influencers. Armed with creativity and confidence, they engage with strangers, capturing Instagram-worthy selfies that tell compelling stories. Through interactions and captivating visuals, participants craft narratives that entice followers to like, share, and engage with their content, showcasing the power of authentic storytelling in building a vibrant online community. 

Finale Activity: THE UTOPIA (3.30PM – 4.30PM)

Competencies and Skills:  

  1. Strengthened Leadership and Relationship-Building: By taking ownership of their contributions and demonstrating leadership qualities during the activity, participants will enhance their ability to build positive relationships and inspire others towards excellence in the workplace. 
  2. Motivated Towards Excellence: The immersive and inspiring nature of "The Utopia" activity will instill a sense of pride and motivation in participants, inspiring them to strive for excellence in their daily tasks and contribute towards the larger vision of the organisation. 

Activity Description (Indoors): 

In the grand finale activity titled "The Utopia," participants converge to foster unity and excellence within their organization amidst a dynamic setting. As they navigate a virtual running track, symbolizing the journey towards organizational unity and excellence, teams are encouraged to persevere and strive for success. Illuminated by a dazzling array of lights, the activity space radiates energy and excitement, symbolising the clarity and vision needed to achieve collective goals. 

The utopia must be filled with the ambient sounds of birds chirping, water flowing, and cars bustling in the background. Participants are transported to various locales across Malaysia. This immersive ambience fosters a sense of connection to the country's natural beauty and urban vitality, inspiring teams to draw inspiration from their surroundings. Guided by limited resources and a shared goal, teams collaborate to construct this utopia, embodying the principles of Stephen Covey's 7 Habits. As they embrace their roles as leaders, builders, and innovators, participants lay the foundation for sustained success and growth, forging bonds that transcend differences and propel the organisation towards its utopian future. 


LEADERSHIP SHARING, AWARDS, REFLECTIONS, AND SHARPENING THE SAW FOR THE FUTURE (4.30 - 5.00 PM)
In the arena of team development, the true essence of any program is unearthed through meaningful debriefing and reflection sessions that align with the principles of the Seven Habits: 
  • Strengthening Team Synergy and Communication: Through the lens of Habit 6—Synergize, we've empowered ourselves to cultivate a deeper sense of unity within our teams, fostering an environment where open and effective communication flourishes. 
  • Fostering Collaborative Spirit: Aligned with Habit 4—Think Win-Win—we've ignited a more powerful collaborative spirit, encouraging us to work hand-in-hand towards common goals, leveraging the diverse strengths and perspectives we each bring to the table. 
  • Resolving Conflicts: In accordance with Habit 5—Seek First to Understand, Then to Be Understood—by addressing the root causes of conflicts, we've acquired the skills to effectively manage and resolve disagreements, nurturing an environment of trust and understanding.
