Emotional Intelligence for Better Performance at the Workplace – 1 Day Workshop

Overview

Research has shown that Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is more reliable in predicting overall success than IQ. It increases the ability to make better decisions, sustain better relationships, deal more effectively with stress, and have more resilience to cope with changes.

This is an important attribute to have at this point of time due to the constant changes that are happening in the workplace.

Learning Objectives

This programme will provide practical techniques to identify, develop and practice the components of Emotional Intelligence at the workplace.

Learning Outcomes

Able to explain the definition of Emotional Intelligence.

Able to identify the five components of Emotional Intelligence in the workplace.

Able to identify the four quadrants and their subcomponents in the Emotional Intelligence Quadrant.

Able to demonstrate the five components of Emotional Intelligence in roleplay sessions.

Methodology

Using a combination of short lecture sessions, small group discussion, quizzes, video clips and demonstrations.

Module 1: Introduction to Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace

  • What is Emotional Intelligence?
  • The Five Components of Emotional Intelligence in the Workplace
  • The Emotional Intelligence Quadrant

Module 2: Self- Awareness and Self- Management

  • Self-Awareness – Developing Emotional Self-Awareness, Accurate Self- Assessment, and Self- Confidence
  • Self- Management – Developing Emotional Self-Control, Transparency, Adaptability, Achievement, Initiative, Optimism

Lunch 1pm-2pm

Module 3: Social Awareness and Relationship Management

  • Social Awareness – Developing Empathy, Organizational Awareness, Service
  • Relationship- Management – Developing Influence, Inspirational Leadership, Developing Others, Change Catalyst, Building Bonds, Conflict Management, Teamwork & Collaboration

Module 4: Bringing It All into Practice

  • Case Studies and Roleplay
  • Troubleshooting and Q&A
  • Summary and Debriefing
